How to Feel More Confident Right Now

We all have those days when we just want to cuddle in our cozy beds, grab a bag of popcorn (or a tub of ice cream), turn on Gossip Girl (or Sex in the City), and drown out the bustle of our everyday world. Even though these "detox" days are needed to rejuvenate and recover, we need to know exactly the right pick-me-ups that get us to conquering this world each minute of every day. And that is the knowledge of understanding and incorporating the power of self-confidence.

Self-confidence comes from self-awareness, the understanding of our being, of our beauty, of our power within. Here are a few quick tips to help bring out that gorgeous confidence that lies within you at this very moment.

1. Adjust your posture

Don't you notice that whenever you feel down, your body automatically ends up being in a slouched position, shoulders caved in, chin down, almost like in a turtle shell. Notice this immediately and change it! Stand up straight or sit up straight, tummies in, back and neck nice and tall, and chins up. This will instantly boost your self-awareness and self-esteem about yourself and your surroundings without doing too much mental work.

2. Smile!

It has been proven that when you force yourself to smile, your brain is tricked into being happier! (Spector) Try it right now. Show your screen your pearly whites! "“Even forcing a fake smile can legitimately reduce stress and lower your heart rate,” adds Dr. Sivan Finkel, a cosmetic dentist at NYC’s The Dental Parlour." (Spector) When we smile, and we become happier, we can then easily transform our feeling of doubt and low self-esteem into confidence that shines from the inside out.

3. Put on your favorite outfit (or your favorite Michellino lingerie)

Let's be honest, when we put on those baggy sweatpants that we have had since high school - possibly with some holes in there somewhere, we do not feel high class. We feel "fine". But let me tell you, feeling "fine" is not what will make us feel fabulous, feel like queens! To feel like queens we need to dress to impress - to impress ourselves! When you put on that sexy black mini dress and look in that mirror, girl, you know you own that! I always say that self-respect and therefore self-confidence easily builds on what kind of undergarments you choose to dress yourself in when no one can see you. How do you go to bed alone at night? In a gorgeous babydoll, or in some panties that you would never show your boyfriend? Act alone how you would act if you were with someone you wanted to impress.

These are just 3 simple steps to incorporate right now to boost that confidence inside of you! Try it and let us know what changes you feel in the comments below.

Love yourselves & live freely ladies!

- With love, your Michellino
